About Scaletech

Scaletech is a cleantech advisory firm that works for multilateral institutions, private companies, and research bodies. We focus on cleantech innovation and its global scaling through transfer and adoption to new locations in emerging and developing economies.

We provide advice on quantitative market research, financing options, go-to-market strategies, and physical redesign of aspects of the product that correspond to specific demands by users in the target market. We closely collaborate with international cleantech centers of excellence like MIT. Our clients have included the World Bank, the United Nations, multinational companies wishing to innovate in their deployment of green technologies, and a range of startups.

We recently developed a SaaS platform that effectively digitizes many of our earlier offline services. Therefore, to strengthen our international team at our Potsdam headquarters, we are looking for a full-time Marketing and Business Development Expert (m/f/x) as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

- Create and monitor the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and business development strategy.
- Identify target customer groups and effective channels to reach them.
- Determine suitable pricing tiers for our online software services through analytical processes.
- Actively reach out to potential clients and partners, via social media, email, phone, or personal visit (if within reach) to gain their business and to better understand their needs to improve our solution.
- Develop and manage a Customer Relationship Management process that meets our needs and scales with our growth.
- Ensure all business development tasks are implemented within budget constraints by carefully planning and monitoring the financial plan.

Your Profile

Must have

- Master’s degree in business, engineering, communications, corporate strategy, marketing, or a related field. Some basic technical/software understanding helps better understand our customers' needs.
- Experience in user and market research with the ability to leverage findings to develop and communicate business strategies.
- Excellent communication skills (in English), capable of conveying complex technical topics to generalist audiences.
- Strong affinity for numbers, proficient in handling extensive EXCEL spreadsheets, and experienced in creating budget plans and forecasts based on defined targets.
- Good knowledge of MS Office products.
- Self-starter mentality, conscientious work ethic, and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to proactively contact and visit potential customers, presenting our solutions effectively.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with SaaS business models and/or software development processes.
- Enthusiasm for sustainable technologies and development.
- Conversational German language skills.
- Experience in a startup environment.
- Experience with pricing/ price-setting methodologies would also be advantageous.
